Yulia’s Poem

I just thought that I’d post something different today, and I decided on a poem, written by one of the characters in my novel, Without Thinking Twice.

Yulia Deft is a closet poet, a romantic, a believer in idealistic soul connection. So oftentimes not only does she write little poems about her feelings, but she even thinks in verse. Here is her poem:

Love is gone…flew away…vanished…

Slipped through a crack in the door…

We should have kept it and cherished…

We should have locked that door…

But he lost the key…or threw it away…

Like the words he’d said before…

This is it…we split… “we” perished…

He doesn’t love me anymore…
