Author Interview: Louise Erdrich

I’m reading right now a novel by Louise Erdrich, The Round House, so I decided that this week’s interview should be with this wonderful author.

Louise Erdrich writes literary fiction. Her novels (Tracks, for one) are being included in college curricula for students studying American Literature. They were nominated for and awarded high literary prizes. They are profound and lyrical. They are passionate and unforgettable.

Part German and part Native American, Erdrich writes about both cultures, but she takes a special interest in her Indian ancestors, addressing their problems, trying to preserve her heritage. Which is admirable and respectable.
